Fine Art Portraits – What Are They?

Fine Arts Portraits. What are they? That is the most common question I get asked as a photographer. Fine Art Portraits can have many definitions, but for my studio when a client asks for a Fine Art Portrait look, it immediately rings the bell for a Vanity Fair/Annie Leibovitz inspired photo shoot. Fine Art Portraits are about capturing your soul through your eyes. In a Fine Art Portrait your eyes are going to be the thing that immediately gives a photo it’s IT FACTOR. Fine Art Portraits have a bit more of a serious facial expression, and a combination of what your eyes are saying in connection with your facial expression is what is going to make for a captivating photograph.

The next thing that plays a role in the overall Fine Art Portrait look is the clothing selection. A Beautiful Day for the March for Babies Walk

There is a special air surrounding the people who walk at the March of Dimes Walk for Babies. You can’t help but feel it. So many walk in remembrance. So many walk in triumph of unsurmountable obstacles. So many walk as their way of helping to make things better.

I had the honor and privilege of photographing this wonderful event and there is nothing more beautiful that seeing people gather and band together for a causes they believe in….a better tomorrow for all preterm babies and pregnancy complications.

Pure Barre Denville – The Studio Photoshoot

A few months back, I had one of the most enjoyable photoshoots with the ladies of Pure Barre Denville. This wonderful team of ladies are fun, energetic, and were just an absolute pleasure to work with on a very hot day in September. Beth, the owner of Pure Barre Denville, had contacted me to set up a professional photoshoot of her studio staff to create images for her marketing needs. Straight away, we discussed her photography needs, how she wanted to use her images, and what feelings she wanted captured to promote her Studio brand. And here are some of the favorites from the photoshoot.

The Studio Statement Image:

This image needed to capture Pure Barre Denville’s brand. It needed to have a modern, industrial, rustic, energetic feel. The image needed to also showcase the Studio’s location. This image also needed to be elevated among all the other images and therefore was completed with our Signature Fine Art detailing.

Individual Images:

Next we needed individual images to showcase each staff member. These images needed to capture how informative, approachable, and friendly each team member is. Each of these images needed to showcase each staff member at their best in the place where they make body transformations happens.

The Group Images:

These images needed to represent the Pure Barre Denville staff and the workout routine.

Kids Just Wanna Have Fun – NJ Kids Photographer

Kids. A camera. Personality. Playfulness. Laughter. Smiles. Fun. The ingredients to a great photography session.

I have the honor of watching this adorable brother and sister duo grow thru my lens. They have been coming in for photography sessions since before they were born. Every time I see them, they bring a huge smile to my face. They are so incredibly sweet, sassy, and full of personality. And if there is one thing I know for sure about these two, it is that they absolutely have an unbreakable brother/sister bond.

This photo shoot was so much fun to photograph. We spent our time laughing, saying “Uhoh”, pretend falling to the ground, and just having some fun! I believe kids should express themselves as they are, and I am there to just capture them in their best light. Kids are only kids once, so let them be kids.
